He said he saw my shirt (from the rally) and that they were talking about Northwood when we came in. His shirt had his first name (Bill) and Dexter on it. I told him we just came from the rally. He asked how many attendees, when it was, etc. I told him we had around 40 rigs, told him when it was and that some vendors had put on seminars for us. He said he was in town for an Airstream rally with about 1,500 attendees. He is interested in attending our next year’s rally.

It turns out I was talking to Bill Snider – Product Training Manager at Dexter. He introduced me to Cory J. Conlin – Account Manager for Dexter. Cory calls on Northwood!

I do have their business cards if you want a picture of them.
I was at the Oliver rally in 2018, and Dexter had a representative there.

Rich, the rig was safe in it's site. Thank goodness. Our truck's bumper was nicked that night though. Some paint scratched off and different color paint deposited.

I can now confirm what the MORryde guy told us. Colorado has horrible roads! We dropped south on I-25 to I-70 and was shook to death. I am now seriously thinking about the AllTrek 4000 and maybe disk brakes!

Feel your pain.... went through there last fall and between the terrible roadway and 50+ miles of lane closures / construction, we'll plan a different route next time.

Disk brakes, are in my view, one of the best safety upgrades I have done. Not cheap….worth every penny, especially if you drive mountains or roads where hard stops are needed!

Got an email from MorRyde with the promised discount code for those who attended, so thought I would check in and make sure those that were there got one as well.

I wanted to follow-up on the MorRyde discount code for etrailer. I decided to order a All Trek 4000 for our 32-5M after some research. I started at the MorRyde site and looked at all their literature including their Qualification Guide. I measured everything and ran the calculations. Everything indicated we needed 35” wheelbase model except the FHS (Frame hanger spread). That indicated a 33” model. Over the next 2 weeks we exchanged several emails with Brendan. He took our measurements to an engineer several times and kept coming up with the 33” wheelbase model (part number TG2-33). The last picture explained why the confusion.

                    His response was:
“Thanks for providing the picture! That was really helpful. I reviewed it with the engineer and he confirmed it’s definitely a 33’’ wheelbase. We didn’t see any issues with the leaf spring deflection. The reason why your wheels are measuring closer to 35’’ is because your rear and front frame hangers are really short compared to the center hanger. This causes the leaf springs to sit at an angle and results in the wheels being a little further apart. There’s no issue with this setup, but it isn’t very common.

I also noticed you had shocks installed. This is another really uncommon feature that most trailers don’t have. Those should be compatible as long as they provide a long enough stroke, but there is a small possibility they would need to be removed to allow for the additional wheel travel the All Trek 4000 provides. “

I then went to etrailer to place our order. They only had the 35” model on the web site. I called etrailer, they recommended their MR87ZR for 33” wheelbase. That is the CRE3000 that I didn’t want. I then chatted with etrailer. Same thing. I emailed Brendan couple more times and he responded with:
"Sounds good! I’m going to have you call Ryan in our parts department. His number is 574-293-1581 x1212.

As I mentioned in my last email, we’re going to give you an extra discount on the All Trek 4000. Through etrailer, with the 10% coupon, it would’ve been around $340. However, we’ll discount it down to $300 with free shipping for you.

You can order the individual wet bolts from us as well and I believe those are about $7/each.

I’ve already let Ryan know about the special pricing for your order and he is expecting your call.

If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to let me know."

I then told him I just placed my order for the 33” AllTrek 4000 and 2 wet bolts and asked him if I could share this experience with you including the pricing and free shipping. I told him appreciated his help and wanted to share it.

                    He responded:
                    "Hi Gene,

                    Glad to hear it!

I appreciate you reaching out prior to posting, but I have absolutely no problem with you sharing your experience. If there are any other rally attendees in need of the 33’’ kit, they can reach out to me and I’ll make the same arrangements for them.

I’m not sure if everyone signed up to receive the discount code, but you’re more than welcome to share that with the group as well. Etrailer carries pretty much our full line so that should work for any other product they might be interested in. Here it is again if you need it.

Just to follow up on the MORryde AllTrek 4000 install. We've now towed about 800 miles using it and we are impressed. Seems like the 5th wheel is riding a lot smoother. Our truck is still rough, of course.
