  • Where does your dog sleep.

For all you dog owners , where does your dog have its "official" bed area .

    under the dining table?
in the pass through storage area?
    outside under the trailer?
    in the Tow vehicle ?
back at home in another state?

We have dogs - never in the house -but weakening to the idea of travelling (airline ticket included) for one (small terrier) as we have no children !

Our dog is a border collie, he never stays in one spot too long. I know he sleeps awhile in the corner of bedroom, on the covered couch, on the floor in slide out area and of course at the end of the covered bed. He has the run of the trailer!

Our Labs are family members first and hunting dogs second. The current four legged family member sleeps on the jacknife sofa, well covered, which is basically at the foot of our bed. She often hops over the back of the sofa onto the bed at night. When she was younger we crated her at night at home and in the trailer but she has the run of the house and considers the trailer her second home.

Our Golden is at the foot of our bed on her bed. Additionally we raise Guide Dog puppies that are also usually Labs or Goldens and so depending on the maturity of the pup, will be on a tie-down under the dining table or in a crate.

Our three Papillons sleep on the bed with us both at home and in our 5th wheel. They each have selected their own special spot That's why we got a 5th wheel with a king size bed, for the dogs.... Every night is a three dog night.

Two Belgian Tervuren's sleep in beds on the floor and the Border Collier/Wippet mix on a bed on the dinette. Ya I know three dogs, two large and one medium. Far better now that we have a slide out versus the previous trailer without a slideout!

Ours tends to sleep where we will step on him during the night. to the person who lets their dogs sleep on the bed, very bad idea.

Our Golden sleeps on the couch; the "pleather" is one of the main reasons we got the SR. He also goes up on the dinette cushions to sleep and look out the window (hence the avatar).

Back when we had Shetland Sheepdogs in our old 26J, they usually settled in a corner, or more frequently, under the table, in the way of our feet. They'd move around frequently during the night. Their quiet guarding of us seldom woke us, but when it did, I'd usually find a gently questing nose by my elbow, and an uncharacteristic refusal to be petted. ("I'm on guard duty...") The walk-around bed provided two aisles in which they could lie.

We've only had our Nash TT, 2002 29V, out for two trips. The first night in our TT was at the La Grand Rally and it was the day from hell. One blow out, one wheel fell off, and one old plastic kitchen faucet exploded. I guess our senior Golden felt our stress because he jumped in bed with us the first night - something he NEVER does. Oh, and he was wearing a cone of shame, too. He stayed there all night. The rest of the trip and the second trip we took, he slept in the "living" room on the floor under the A/C vent.

Our two beagles (like our first one) sleeps with us in our bed...that is how we ended up with a longer 5th

When the kids are home, they make sure they do a stint in each bed...they are pack animals.

However, they both have beds and if they get too hot, they will retire to their own bed ...

Our American Cocker sleeps in his kennel next to the couch. I am thinking that a door in the under bed storage will make a cosy spot
