  • What is the material on the ceiling of Arctic Fox 5th wheels?

In my re-search I have read that many folks do not like the fabric material on the ceiling. What kind of material is it and what is your thought on the cleaning etc of it?

It's Ozite indoor-outdoor carpet material. It was also in my 2011 AF - not sure about the 2002 Nash. It cleans pretty easily with a damp cloth.

Is there any reported logic as to why they install carpet on the ceiling ? Seems odd right?

        Bullet-proof maybe? Certainly light-weight.

          Warmth? Sound Deadening?

We like the fabric on the ceiling, no care needed.

We like the ceiling material as well. Kind of a 70s van feel minus the green color...;-). My only concern is cleaning as well, especially in the kitchen area.

It was also also a factor when when replacing the ceiling speakers, I found ones that fit the openings so I didnít have to make them larger.

In addition to a bit of insulation and sound deadening I would speculate that it also eliminates condensation dripping from the ceiling under certain conditions.

In addition to all of that above, I would guess that it would make slight imperfections less visible-kind of like a knock down or popcorn ceiling would do in a house.

We like it, havenít seen any one else do this. Makes everything nice and quiet and solid feeling. Hope it stays up, herd for our year it has bad glue and falling down. Iíve taken a paint roller to it a couple times.

This was my thought on why you would use carpet on the ceiling

Since we are talking about the ceiling carpet..... what are folks doing about the bubbles in the ceiling carpet?

I had some our first summer and would run my hand over them to get it stuck again.
I also tried to not let it get to hot by opening a fantastic vent and looking from time to time if it had closed because it detected moisture.

Paint roller sounds like a good idea.

We used a 9Ē paint roller with extension when it was hot out. Going to use a 4Ē roller next time for more pressure. I can see doing this a few times a year.

This concerns me. Of all the issues new rigs have, the ceiling is something I don't want to worry about..
