  • Another New Guy Here

We have been lurking for a while and are seriously interested in a new AF 29-5T. We currently own a class C motorhome.

Our question: Does the 2017+ 29-5T passenger side bedroom window(Emergency exit) open for ventilation and if so, does it have a screen?

    Welcome to the forum.

We have a 2016 29-5T and for our uses, we love it!

After the 2016 model, the main bedroom interior was redesigned.

The main window was changed from a horizontal position, to a vertical position. That change allowed for a larger dresser area with a television cabinet along the right wall.

Unless it's been recently changed, the newer vertical window was not able to be opened for ventilation like the horizontal window. The windows function as an emergency exit point in both designs. We enjoy the air flow the open main window provides.

Hehr is the maker of the windows that Northwood uses. If it's a deal breaker, try talking with your dealer, to see of Northwood or your dealer could install an opening window, instead of the stationary one.

There may be some other options for you. If you don't get the second A/C in the bedroom you can have a fantastic fan installed in the vent opening. This would help ventilate the bedroom considerably. We have the second A/C and if we were to do it over again we would have seen if NW would delete the big skylight in the bedroom for a regular sized vent. That way we could have the A/C and a fantastic fan.

In 27-5L there is a 3 x 1.5 slider window that services as an exit window as well. Maybe similar can be done for 29-5T?

Thank you all for the quick responses. It seems like the window does not open for ventilation.

Welcome to the Forum! Ventilation in the bedroom with using AC is an important thing for us and without a window to open would be a deal breaker. I agree with Dave in having your dealer make the change if they canít get it done at the factory.
