    Looking for the length of body of trailer (minus nose) also ballpark distance from tw bumper to body of trailer? Think of make a upgrade from 22H and wondering how much more am i pulling behind truck. Never had a fifth wheel they look huge compared to bumper pull

    If you do you would be very close to overall length but taller, more stable ,trailer wont track quite as close ( amazing what that distance from tire to ball hitch does ).

    Between bumper and trailer over 30 inches it slops so depends on where you measure. I can comfortably walk between truck and trailer ( hunched over a bit ) even with my ball hitch on.


    Measurement was with truck disconnected but from kingpin point to back of bumper is 48 inches

      Awesome info, size problem has been solved, now what to do with the extra 5k lbs. may have to modify current TW to pull the extra weight. I have been told 5ers tow better than bumper pull which woulb be great since i never have had a issue with bumper pull, cant imagine puling 5er uphill though

        Pulled it with a 2004 Duramax with no uphill problems.
        Downhill ...... look at putting a jake brake on.

        air bags or spring upgrade as well.

          Have air bags, upgraded trans cooler, gauges fot trans temp and pyro, but dont trust transmission to pull extra weight so a new trans will be needed (180k) before i can pull 12k. Glad to see a close example of motor for pulling. Nice to know i dont have to start over with new truck, thought about bumping up springs maybe 1 more.

            One last thing ...... I was over GVW with the 2004 2500 but rear was good, might think about going with 350 tires when you need to change them out.

              Just remember the 27-5L is MUCH taller, 13.5 ft.

                I upgraded the tires last year, not sure what they are rated for, larger than stock, will have to check, what am i looking for?

                  Yep depending on year and what options I measured mine at 13 feet and 2 inch held my breath when I had really no choice but go under a bridge labeled 13 foot 3 inch

                    I leaned my lesson earlier this year going into a pressure washer carwash, didnt need the tv antenna anyway. I am not sure i would go back to many nor cal campsites, big sur would remove the air cond with a 13.5 ft clearance

                      Bottom line this is what you are looking for both ( F250 and F350 ) are load RANGE E but if I recall my stock tires was 3000 pounds

                        Yep, load E, 3415 lbs, now if i could make the ford 4r100 turn into an allison or aisin, praise the lord, its a miracle

                          Superduty with a allison trans and cummins eng make everybody happy

                          I just had air bags and ran them at 50psi if I remember correctly.
