  • Disc Brakes Trailer setting question

Got my trailer back and have my new 6 volt batteries and Dexter Disc brakes installed. The short ride home was uneventful and the new brakes were powerful and smooth. Through my factory brake controller I have been selecting Heavy Electric for my setting using the Drum brakes. With these new Disc brakes should I continue using Heavy Electric or select Heavy Electric over Hydraulic (EOH) on my controller?

May take some playing to find the best performance, but when my disc brakes were installed the controller (prodigy P3) was changed to EOH. I still made some adjustments to get it set to what I preferred.

Thank you Rolland. Guess I'll set up an option for both and try both and see which one works the best.

I had PTB install Disc brakes on my SOB (ORV) 5th wheel and my gain setting came down from 8 to 6 with my OEM controller. I am traveling through AZ on the 4th July weekend and Dennis with Performance Trailer Brake will install the 8k disc brakes + upgraded suspension. My new rig is much heavier so I am looking forward to it.
