  • Chesapeake Bay Bridge

My 2018 27-5L has a height listed by NW as 13'3". Later this week I'm planning to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which is listed as 13'6". Has anyone on this forum crossed the CBBT with a 13'3" trailer? I'm not able to check the actual height of the Fox, and 3" seems a bit too close for comfort. Also can anyone suggest an alternate route between Virginia Beach and Ocean City, MD?

Well, that clears it up. Not. I did get a response from a local who said no worries. So, what, me worry?

This past spring I faced the concern with my 2019 27-5 at 13’ 6”. We (wive &I) decided to go around, our route took 95 to Springfield, VA, then 495 thru Alexandria exiting on US 50 to Annapolis and over the bridge. We timed our trip to arrive at the 95/495 interchange between 11 and noon. Travel wasn’t bad and moved at speed limits around the Capital.

Crossed the bridge/tunnel last summer with my 27-5L. I measure 13' 6".... no issues. All they asked is my propane turned off. Had to do it once!
