  • East Glacier NP - the MUD Report

    Hello All!

We spent the last two weeks of June exploring the east side of GLACIER NATIONAL PARK! We rode our bikes up the "Going to the Sun" Highway again, hiked in Two Medicine, St Mary and Many Glacier areas. Additional highlights were having dinners at the historic East Glacier Lodge with Tango Chuck and then at the Many Glacier Lodge. We have updated the travel blog with all the details:

    http://mud-on-the-tires.blogspot.com...-jun-2019.html

On our first day driving into the Glacier area the month before, the mountains had been obscured in dense smoke. Since then we experienced mostly cloudy, rainy, and windy weather. It impacted some of our plans but we would rather hike in rain than breath in smoke. We might have gotten soggy and cold, but we saw a truly spectacular part of our country!

We are in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada & have been exploring Waterton Lakes NP. We leave tomorrow for Banff NP, Canada & will be there for a few weeks! After that, we return to Roundup to help Arleen's Mom move on to the next phase of her life...

We hope you have had some special adventures this summer.

    Hugs, Arleen & Shawn

Riding the "Going to the Sun" Highway. It was only 5 miles up the east side but we climbed 1,500 feet! It was a fun ride down!

Gorgeous pictures as usual! Your hikes and elevation figures made me tired just reading about them--you two must be in wonderful cardiac condition!

I’m glad you enjoyed our latest ventures, Linda! Yes, we are both in pretty good shape right now. We’re in Banff and planning out several hikes here!
