That is very wise! Its usually our rule of thumb too. We were up at Alder Lake without a cell phone signal and a forecast that was several days old.

On the Road Again - The MUD Report

    Hello Fellow Travelers!

The summer of Canadian Rockies has begun! We are on the road again having left our comfortable winter location of Sequim in the 1st. We spent a quiet week at Alder Lake, Washington.

We are now at the pleasant Lincoln Rock State Park, Wenatchee, Washington for a few days. Next stops are Dry Falls, Spokane, and Curlew, Washington before our first Canadian stop, Kelowna, British Columbia.

It was a challenging travel day yesterday...

We were concerned about snow over White Pass WA but that wasn't a problem. The problem was the WIND from roughly Ellensburg to Quincy WA. It really kicked our butts!

Not only did the 50-60mph cross winds result in a stressful drive but we even had some damage. The refrigerator vent cover nearly got blown off... it's totaled. Then our slide awning unraveled and the metal bracket is severely bent. It's amazing the slide awning didn't get destroyed but the bracket did! We weather forecasters should have known better. We're fired!
For our Mud-on-the-Tires travel blog followers; We have a great summary of our winter done. Unfortunately, there is an issue between Livewriter & Google for our blog. Hope it resolves soon.

Safe & Happy Travels to each of you! Arleen & Shawn
