  • Cross Country Excursion - 2018

Donna and I are departing tomorrow, for another cross country excursion, this time from the west coast, along I-80 & I-70 all the way to Washington DC.

On the return trip, we'll be taking I-81 & I-40 back home. This trip is planned to take 8-9 weeks, with loads of stops in between.

As always, we'll be posting daily updates and photographs on our travel blog:

      Looks fun!

Best RV travel starts after labor day. Given your direct path out of CA, Saturday is also a good day, lol. Safe Travels.

We had a very similar trip planned for Sept/Oct of this year and then about 3 months ago we got a wedding invitation (Sept 30) that we really have to attend. Thought heading back East starting in October we would run into some bad weather so postponed it so it is now scheduled for Sept/Oct of 2020. Looking forward to the DC, Civil War History/area and the fall colors starting in Maine and heading South.
Have a safe trip and we will be watching!

... and that's the first thing I noticed about your planned route, Donna and Dave: you'll be bypassing some amazing country way down here in southern Colorado!
                  Have a great trip!

If you have the time and the inclination, and not already on the planner, take in the WWI Muesum in Kansas City. Finest in the US, maybe the world. Our family has artifacts on display there. If so inclined for KC BBQ, Arthur Bryant’s (originator of the KC style), and Jack Stack’s.

You may have it already planned, but just in case, be sure to make time for the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. Extremely moving memorial. For what it is, probably one of the best in the country, in our opinion.
